Viewport Navigation
As with any new tool, getting your bearings is a critical first step. This guide is to help in that process.
Navigation Overview
Navigation commands work only in the viewport.
Orbit
Right clicking while holding the alt key and moving the mouse will orbit the camera. Orbiting allows the camera to rotate around a given point. This is similar to “strafing” around an object while looking at it.
Look
Right clicking and moving the mouse will Rotate the camera. Rotating allows the camera to rotate on its own centerpoint. This is similar to looking by turning your head.
Walk Mode
While holding down the right mouse button to look, you automatically enter the walk mode.
Walking is simply moving the camera/view linearly and relative to the current view alignment.
While in walk mode, you can use the WASD/QE keys…
… or Arrow Keys/PgUp-PgDown to move you around
